New England’s leading residential energy services company, Next Step Living, helped over 20,000 households lower their energy bills last year which will equate to $25 million in savings over the next 5 years. As part of its whole-home approach, Next Step Living encourages homeowners to install Total Climate Control (TCC) systems, also known as ductless heat pumps, in their homes as an affordable heating alternative to traditional methods such as oil, propane or electric baseboard. Next Step Living applauds the findings of a recent Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) report, which underscores the need for heat pumps in the Northeast due to the high proportion of residents who heat with oil.

In the past 6 months, Next Step Living installed over 180 Total Climate Control systems in New England homes which will result in $3.6 million in savings over the life of the systems for these residents. Beyond the energy savings benefit, TCC systems can also act as highly efficient cooling systems and provide homeowner’s with room-by-room temperature control which make them an even more attractive solution for residents. Next Step Living connects customers with available rebates, incentives and financing options from state programs to help reduce the upfront cost of the TCC system so that it becomes an affordable option for homeowners.
